Dear Friends:

Welcome to the new electronic version of “International Trade Update.”

Francisco Sánchez, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade

Francisco Sánchez, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade

Time and again, it’s been proven that information is one of the most powerful tools to spur economic growth. With this new format, we strive to communicate with you more quickly, directly, and effectively than ever before.

At the International Trade Administration (ITA), we know that our success depends on our partnerships with you, the wide range of stakeholders we are proud to work with every day. We feel it’s critical to keep you consistently informed about important initiatives, success stories, and upcoming events that could benefit your business, your community, and the overseas markets you sell to.

Conversely, we want this to be an interactive experience so that our content reflects what you’re seeing on the ground. We welcome your feedback and ideas for stories in future editions. Feel free to contact us at PublicAffairs@trade.gov or leave comments below.

I also urge you to share this newsletter with your networks so that we can continue to push for progress. This kind of communication is key to our mission of giving businesses every opportunity to sell their products freely and fairly, helping hard-working Americans provide for their families.

On a personal note, as under secretary for international trade, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand how exports are supporting jobs, strengthening businesses, and bringing new opportunities to communities across the nation. Through this newsletter, I want to continue to share these experiences with you.

Next month, I’ll be starting a column for the newsletter. It will highlight people, policies, and issues that are important to exports and the ITA. I want you to have unique insight and access into our work, all with the goal of deepening our partnerships. Together we can ensure that America both competes and succeeds in the global economy.

I hope that you check out my column in the next issue, and share our excitement about this new beginning.

Until next time,

Francisco Sánchez

Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade

Washington, D.C.

  1. Cool, I followed you @UnderSecSanchez, exporting is the number one key to recovery imo.

  2. Francisco, thank you and your team for bringing the true story, not the mainstream media circus stories on the economy.

One of the recent stories I noted was the big upsurge in light truck exports…it’s stories like these that need to be told.

Once again, thank you for making them available.

    Best,
    Ewen
